About
History
Blue Geranium Florist originally opened at a kiosk in Torquay (July 2007), which had previously been occupied by a Fortune Teller. Coincidentally, the name we created was in honour of the great crime writer Agatha Christie and her birthplace, Torquay. She wrote a short story, The Blue Geranium (1932), and created a villain, a Fortune Teller, who convinced her victim to beware of blue flowers.
18 months later, Blue Geranium Florist moved to Totnes, which Don & Phil were more familiar with after their previous business collaboration with Green Fuse. In addition to a workshop space by the River Dart, they also traded for three years from a very beautiful flower stall at the historic and very popular Totnes Market every Friday and Saturday, before finally moving to a permanent shop on Castle Street, Totnes.
Blue Geranium Florist offers a particular style that's natural with rich textures and tonal colours and often compared to elegant garden-style arrangements
Blue Geranium Florist has travelled to many wonderful locations and provided floral arrangements for some great clients, including a celebrity wedding on a private island in the Caribbean (2009), a Highland fling at Blair Castle, the prestigious Park Lane Hilton for the London 2012 Olympics and a private luncheon at Dartington Hall for H. M .The Queen (March 2010).
